Geocache Description:

Located adjacent to the Grand River and a popular "rail trail". Should be a fairly easy hike/bike/canoe trip.

The geocache is located at an interesting site between the Grand River and the Cambridge to Paris Rail Trail (part of the Trans Canada Trail system), south of Cambridge. You have several options for getting to the site; you can hike, bike, or canoe. If you are hiking or biking, the closest official trail entrance/parking lot is located at 43 degrees, 16.594 minutes north latitude and 80 degrees, 20.725 minutes west longitude (approx. 4.5 km round trip). If you would like a longer hike/bike another official trail entrance/parking lot is located at 43 degrees, 20.698 minutes north latitude and 80 degrees, 18.936 minutes west longitude (approx. 14 km round trip). If you choose to canoe to the site you can also put in at the latter location, or for a slightly shorter paddle you can also put in at 43 degrees, 19.041 minutes north latitude and 80 degrees, 18.929 minutes west longitude. If you decide to canoe, please don't forget to arrange for a way to get back to your vehicle.

The cache itself consists of a metal ammo box containing the following items:

  • deck of cards
  • checkers travel game
  • sewing repair kit
  • insulated drink holder
  • squeaky dog toy
  • keychain
  • and, a logbook with two pencils in a plastic bag
