The Matanuska Greenbelt has provided enjoyment and exercise for Matsu Valley residents for many years. Hikers, bikers, skiers, horseback riders and geocachers roam the 30+ miles of trails, as well as fox, moose and even occasional black bears. The ground-fed lakes host numerous species of migrating waterfowl, and many are beloved fishing spots. There are many ways to show your esteem for this precious resource. Not enlarging established pathways, picking up trash when you see it, and respecting adjacent private property would be some good ones. Let's all do our part to maintain the Greenbelt!
