Poblat talaiotic de s’Illot in Mallorca
The Poblat talaiotic de s’Illot in Mallorca are some of the best preserved ruins from prehistoric times on the island. Their period of perfection goes all the way back to 850-123 BC. Talaiots are found all over Mallorca. A large number of them can be encountered in the vicinity of Alcudia, on the northern part and a little inland. The prehistoric ruins of one of the first inhabitants of the island can also be freely explored in the east, for example in the town of s’Illot. Interestingly, this is definitely a large talaiot and thanks to a bridge that is open to visitors, you can see the ruins from a slightly higher perspective. This allows you to discern the grid layout of the settlement.
