Sistelo, “o pequeno Tibete de Portugal”
Hoje levo-vos a visitar Sistelo, uma das aldeias vencedoras das 7 Maravilhas de Portugal, no concelho de Arcos de Valdevez. Sistelo está localizado no Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês.
Socalcos agrícolas de tirar o fôlego esculpem esta paisagem única que deu origem ao nome “Pequeno Tibete Português”.

É a primeira vez que tal classificação é atribuída a uma aldeia no seu conjunto, património cultural e natural, que até agora era atribuído apenas ao património edificado.
Os socalcos são a base da economia agro-pastoril desta região com relevo acentuado. Os socalcos permitem o aproveitamento dos terrenos para agricultura de subsistência de milho, feijão e batata e pastoreio de animais, principalmente da vaca barrosã e da cachena adaptada ao clima e relevo da região.
Passeie pelas ruas da vila
As casas da aldeia estão muito bem conservadas. Caminhando pelas ruas da aldeia poderá verificar que algumas casas típicas de granito foram restauradas.
As lavandarias públicas são outro testemunho etnográfico da aldeia
A igreja de Sistelo
As origens do templo religioso se perderam na história. Só no século XVI é que a primeira referência à igreja de Sistelo apareceu nos livros da arquidiocese, quando a região de Valença foi transferida para Braga.
É o ponto de partida para a maioria dos percursos pedestres.
O castelo ou Casa do Visconde
O Castelo do Sistelo é a jóia da coroa do património edificado da vila. Quando Manuel Gonçalves Roque regressou do Brasil, no final do século XIX, investiu a sua fortuna na construção de um palácio revivalista na aldeia onde nasceu.
Este castelo, que foi residência do Visconde de Sistelo, alberga hoje um centro de interpretação cultural paisagística.
Os Espigueiros
Os espigueiros de cereais pontuam toda a aldeia, seja nos pátios das casas, seja junto a edifícios agrícolas.

Aujourd’hui, je vous emmène visiter Sistelo, l’un des villages gagnants des 7 Merveilles du Portugal, dans la municipalité d’Arcos de Valdevez. Sistelo se situe dans le parc national de Peneda-Gerês.
Les terrasses agricoles à couper le souffle sculptent ce paysage unique qui a donné naissance au nom de « petit Tibet portugais ».

C’est la première fois qu’un tel classement est attribué à un village dans son ensemble, patrimoine culturel et naturel, qui jusqu’à présent n’était attribué qu’au patrimoine bâti.
Les terrasses (os Socalcos) sont à la base de l’économie agro-pastorale de cette région au relief marqué. Les terrasses permettent l’utilisation du sol pour l’agriculture de subsistance du maïs, des haricots et des pommes de terre et le pâturage des animaux, principalement la vache barrosã et la cachena adaptées au climat et au relief de la région.
Balade dans les ruelles du village
Les maisons du village sont très bien conservées. En se promenant dans les rues du village ont peux voir que quelques maisons typiques en granit ont été restaurées.
Les laveries publiques sont un autre témoignage ethnographique du village.
L’eglise de Sistelo
Les origines du temple religieux ont été perdues dans l’histoire. Ce n’est qu’au XVIe siècle que la première référence à l’église de Sistelo est apparue dans les livres de l’archidiocèse, lorsque la région de Valença a été transférée à Braga.
C’est le point de départ de la plupart des itinéraires de randonnées.
Le château ou Casa do Visconde
Le Castelo do Sistelo est le joyau de la couronne du patrimoine bâti du village. Lorsque Manuel Gonçalves Roque est revenu du Brésil à la fin du XIXe siècle, il a investi sa fortune dans la construction d’un palais revivaliste dans le village qui l’avait vu naître.
Ce château qui était la maison du Visconde de Sistelo abrite aujourd’hui un centre d’interprétation du paysage culturel.
Les Espigueiros
Les greniers à grains ponctuent un peu tout le village, que ce soit dans les cours des maisons, ou à côté des bâtiments agricoles.

Today I'm taking you to visit Sistelo, one of the winning villages of the 7 Wonders of Portugal, in the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez. Sistelo is located in the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Breathtaking agricultural terraces sculpt this unique landscape that gave rise to the name “Little Portuguese Tibet”.
