Let's celebrate 25 years of geocaching with a fun filled Block Party with NJ's own Atlantic City Monopoly board game theme!
Everyone who attends and signs the logbook will receive the "Block Party" icon!
The Monopoly board game took its inspiration from the real streets in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Monopoly board game is about to celebrate 90 years in 2025. The version based on real-life streets from Atlantic City came out on March 19, 1935. Baltic Avenue, Mediterranean Avenue, Virginia Avenue, St. James Place, all of these locations, and the rest are or were real places when Monopoly’s Atlantic City version came out. You can still make your way back to many of these iconic locations next time you find yourself in Atlantic City, NJ.
LOCATION INFORMATION
The 2025 Metro Gathering Block Party will hold this event at East Jersey Old Town Village. This village is a collection of historic structures that were relocated to Johnson Park in Piscataway. The village is comprised of sixteen reconstructed and replica 18th and 19th century structures that represent architecture typical of farm and merchant communities once found in the Raritan Valley.
Visitors today can explore the site and meet the historical interpreters that bring the Village to life through their historic trades and crafts. A gateway site for the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area, situated along the Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail, the Village offers award winning exhibits, living history, and seasonal programs.
BLOCK PARTY ACTIVITIES:
Using the Monopoly Theme which is probably the most famous board game in the world, will be incorporated with the scavenger hunt and Adventure Lab caches.

Geocachers have attended the previous Metro Gathering events from all over the United States, Canada and many international geocachers! Come and gather in this Metro area with all the local Geocaching clubs from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and the Mid Atlantic States.
