The Belmont Tramway, operating in Brisbane, Australia, was a short-lived railway built by the Belmont Shire Council, opening in 1912 and closing in 1926. Operating under the Tramways Act of 1882, it was legally considered a tramway to avoid competition with Queensland Railways. The 4.3-mile line had passenger shelters and goods facilities at various stations. Initially operated by Queensland Railways, the Shire later acquired its own steam tram. Despite multiple suspensions and reopenings, financial challenges led to its closure in 1926. A portion of the track bed later became part of Brisbane City Council's electric tram route in 1948.
