Cascades Falls
Winter Walk Event
Sunday, 21st July, 2024, 9.30am until 10am
Geocaching NSW would like to invite everyone to an informal meet and greet event at the start of the Cascade Walking Track, just off the Illawarra Highway at Tongarra, with a walk to Cascade Falls and return, afterwards.
The event itself is an informal meet'n'greet. Those who attend will be able to meet up with other geocachers and talk about a common interest in geocaching, make new friends or catch up with old ones, share stories, get a clue to a DNF or a hint to a puzzle you have been trying to solve.
There is parking nearby. Please bring a chair to sit on if required. We hope you can join us.
There will be a walk afterwards for anyone that would like to join us. It will be to the traditional cache GCMJ3C why Mcworry?, it is about a 2km return walk, rated Grade 3, which should take about 45 minutes to an hour to walk, along the way is an AL called Cascades walk by Wilbert67 for people to grab as well.
The easy and rewarding Cascades walk will take you through rainforest and tall eucalypt forest along a creek to the beautiful cascades. This rainforest haven is home to lyrebirds, platypus and goannas, as well as large native figs, lilly pillys and lianas. wander through the fern understorey, with lizards skittering about and birds darting through the shafts of sunlight, this is a delightful experience all year round.
Please bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat, snacks and suitable footwear. We hope to see you there.
