A geocaching meet and greet on an island in Cambridge Sunday, 21st July 2024 at 10:30am for an hour
All are invited to this geocaching event at Laundress Green, an island in centre of the historic university city of Cambridge - cross over by foot, bike, swim or punt! For an hour we will chat about all things geocaching and our adventures playing this game.
The story of punting began in the nineteenth century, originally to transport cargo along the River Cam. A punt’s flat base makes it a very stable craft and enables it to pass through shallow areas of water. ‘Pleasure punting’ was introduced in 1903 by Maurice ‘Jack’ Scudamore. It became popular pastime with the students. It remains the most popular water activity in Cambridge.
