25 Jahre GEOCACHING

Vor 15 Jahren veranstalteten "Die Salzburger" das erste Mega Event Österreichs in Salzburg!

Heute feiern wir wieder mit der ganzen Welt 25 Jahre Geocaching! Welche tollen Abenteuer durften wir durch dieses großartige Hobby erleben!

Im Jahr 2025 ist es 25 Jahre her, dass das GPS-Signal kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt und der erste Geocache ausgelegt wurde.
Dies passierte am 3. Mai 2000 in Oregon/USA.

Wir feiern im schönen Schlosspark von Hellbrunn auf der großen Wiese von 09:00 Uhr bis 15:00 Uhr.
Das Schloss, die Parks und der nahe Alpenzoo können jederzeit besichtigt werden.

Der weltberühmte "Sound of Music" Pavillion liegt keine 100m entfernt. Dieser und einige andere ebenso weltberühmte Film-Drehorte in Salzburg haben uns auch zu diesem aussagekräftigen Eventnamen - BLOCKBUSTER - gebracht. Dieser Hintergrund hat uns auch zu unserem Logo Inspiriert und zieht sich wie ein roter Faden durch die gesamte Eventorganisation.

Ein großer Block soll für das heutige Thema Symbol sein und sowohl als Logbuch, als auch als Foto-Hotspot für den diesjährigen Locationless Cache - 25 zur Verfügung stehen.

Um 12:00 Uhr bilden wir alle gemeinsam den großen "Ring of Geofire".

Eine Drohne wird unseren Menschenring dann von oben filmen und fotografieren.

Viele LAB´s und auch Geocaches werden in unmittelbarer Nähe zu finden sein. Ziel ist es, euch möglichst viele - auch seltene - Cachetypen an einem Tag zu ermöglichen.

Lernt dabei alles über das 400 Jahre alte Schloss Hellbrunn und seine fantastischen und weltweit einzigartigen Wasserspiele - Erwartet dort das Unerwartete!

Die spezielle und limitierte Eventcoin kann vor Ort erworben werden!

• Picknickdecken, Sessel und Tische eventuell selbst mitbringen.
• Die Parkplätze (WP - Gebührenpflichtig!) sind nicht weit. 
• Die Anreise mit den Öffis oder Rädern wird allerdings empfohlen.
• Ein großer Abenteuerspielplatz ist in Sichtweite. Bringt also Eure Kids mit!
• Öffentliche WCs sind vorhanden.
• Mülltrennung vorort bitte beachten!

Selbstverständlich wird auch dem Coin- und Trackabletausch ausreichend Raum geboten. Viele Geocaches aller Gattungen und LAB-Abenteuer in Salzburg und Umgebung werden sich für diesen Feiertag ebenso herausputzen.

Celebrating 25 years GEOCACHING

15 years ago “Die Salzburger” organized Austria’s first mega event in Salzburg! Today we are celebrating 25 years of geocaching again with the whole world, what great adventures we have been able to experience through this great hobby!

In 2025 it will be 25 years since the GPS signal was made available free of charge and the first geocache was laid out. This happened on May 3, 2000 in Oregon/USA.

We celebrate in the beautiful Hellbrunn Palace Park on the large lawn from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The castle, the parks and the nearby Alpine zoo can be visited at any time.

The world famous "Sound of Music" Pavilion is only 100m away. This and several other equally world-famous film locations in Salzburg inspired us to choose the event's meaningful name – BLOCKBUSTER -. This background also inspired our logo and serves as a common thread throughout the entire event organization.

A large wooden BLOCK will symbolize today's theme and serve as both a logbook and a photo hotspot for this year's Locationless Cache - 25.

At 12 p.m. we will all form the big "Ring of Geofire" together.

A drone will film and photograph the human ring from above.

There will be many LAB-Caches in the immediate vicinity. The goal is to enable you to find as many cache types as possible – even rare ones – in one day.

You will learn everything about the 400-year-old Hellbrunn Castle and its fantastic, globally unique water trick fountains - expect the unexpected there!

The Special limited Event coin can be purchased locally!

• Bring picnic blankets, armchairs and tables if necessary.
• The parking lots are not far. Therefore please take a look at the waypoints. 
• We recommend traveling by public transport or bicycle.
• A children's playground is not far away, so bring your kids!
• Toilets are available.
• Please note waste separation on site!

Coin and trackable exchange will also have anough space.

Find many geocaches and LAB´s in Salzburg and the surrounding area.
