About SideTracked Caches
This geocache belongs to the SideTracked series that is popular in the UK and throughout the world. The first cache was placed on the 10th August, 2007, and is now spreading around the world. It is designed to be a relatively quick cache find around train stations for travellers but, of course, anyone else can find it too! More Information about the series can be found at the SideTracked Series

This year marks the 18th Anniversary of the beginning of the SideTracked Series.
At the time of publication of this event there are SideTracked caches in 47 countries with Australia being ranked 2nd! There have been 5808 caches published, including events, and 2672 are still active. There are over 1000 hiders worldwide.
To help celebrate this milestone come along to this Community Celebration Event near a well patronised station at the site of the original terminus for the North Shore T1 Train Line.
When: Sunday, 10th August, 2025
Time: 11am to 1pm
Where: Wadanggari Park, on the Pacific Highway, opposite St Leonards Station

I hope you can join me to celebrate this great Geocaching series.
St Leonards
In 1883 St Leonards was named after English statesman, Viscount Sydney of St Leonards. When named St Leonards applied to the whole area from North Sydney to Gore Hill.
About St Leonards Station
St Leonards railway station opened at the current site on the 1st January, 1890 as the terminus for the North Shore line to Hornsby. It was the first purely suburban railway station in Sydney. The line was extended to Milsons Point on the 1st May, 1893 and electrified in 1927.The station was temporarily relocated to this site, Wadanggari Park in 1989 for redevelopement and returned to the original site in February 2000.
Originally there were only 4 trains each way per day on weekdays, 2 on Saturdays and none on Sundays. By 1893 there were 10 passenger trains daily and 4 on Sundays.
Goods trains ceased using the line in the early 1990s and now the line services the T1, T9 and CCN (Central Coast Network with 2 untimetabled services each day).
