Following alongside the meadow field is the river Arrow and Cain Brook, a haven to wildlife and many protected species of plants and animals. The wetland vegetation, from mature alder and willow trees, and wet woodlands provides a home to many notable insect species and otters. The Heart of England Way passes through meadow field, a 100-mile recreational walking route with many National Trust properties along the way.
There is also significant bird interest across the whole Coughton Court property including bullfinch, grey partridge, song thrush, spotted flycatcher and tree sparrow (red-listed and UK BAP Priority Species); house sparrow and lesser spotted woodpecker (Red-Listed); and kingfisher, green woodpecker and kestrel (Amber Listed). Barn owls have also been spotted; can you spot any of the rare birds nearby?
