For the past 11 years novfrog & jeromehasbargen have been hosting a wonderful annual Pizza & Presents event in Dilworth, MN. Butterfly_77 and I have been fortunate enough to attend a few of these events and they are a blast. I wanted to bring this holiday joy to more cachers so I are hosting a sencond annual Pizza & Presents event in central ND
In the tradition of this event "There will be an optional white elephant gift exchange. If you wish to participate, please bring a wrapped gift and a sense of humor."
* If you choose to eat you will be responsible for the cost of your own food. *
This event will be at the Pizza Ranch at 1431 East LaSalle Drive Bismarck, ND, starting at 2:00 PM and ending at 3:30 PM. The lunch buffet is available, or you can order off the menu, but you do not have to do either to participate in the event.
What counts as a white elephant gift? Almost anything but please keep in mind that children are welcome at the event. Re-gifting of your well-intentioned but unwanted holiday gifts is highly encouraged. This is the place to bring the holiday gift set you don't like, the kitchen aid you will never use, or that toy your child absolutely HATES! If you received multiple gifts this holiday season that you just don't know what to do with, you are welcome to bring more than one gift but please keep in mind that you might not leave with more than one gift. It just depends on how many there are. In most of the past Pizza and Presents events everyone left with 2 or even 3 gifts due the generosity of the hosts.
Alternatively, if you like everything you received, you could bring a nice gift. Previous years we have seen camo duck tape, geocaching trackables, brand new ammo can, ready-to-hide cache kit (container with pencil or pen and log), wine (claimed by someone 21+), gift cards, boxes of new Christmas cards, Hallmark collectibles, toys, games, puzzles, trading cards, coffee mug, travel cup/mug, toolbox, GPS unit, gold colored buttons, birdhouse geocache, ceramic figurines, party decorations, shampoo, teapot, t-shirt, baseball cap, DVD/CD, candel, hand sanitizer, fruit cake, candy, oven mit, rubber spatula, jelly, rain gague, and gag gifts. There is no $ limit on the gift but this event is meant to be cheap fun. Occasionally a gift has come back the next year, but this is OK too!
Have I made it clear that almost anything makes a good white elephant gift? I hope so. Hopefully you will leave with a gift you like more than the one you brought, but if not, I hope you will have a good time anyway!
