Geocache Description:

10 February 2025, 05:45 - 06:30

Come join the early morning Brew Crew and start the work week with a smiley.  We are meeting inside now where it's warm so there's no excuse for not stopping by (except perhaps the early hour).

Today is Teddy Bear Day, part of Valentine's Week.  Valentine's Day is Friday - as if you needed the reminder.

From the Valentine Week Website:  "Teddy Bears bring back childhood memories of being cuddled and tucked into bed securely by one's parents. A teddy is a cute stuffed animal that brings all cozy, sweet things to mind. Let your dear one know that you’re there for ever, cosy and huggable as that teddy you’re handing over."

This blatant push to expand the consumerism of the holiday comes with a clickable link for your purchase. YCMV (your cynicism may vary).

But a lot of things have happened on February 10, including:

  • 1967: The 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified
  • 1964: Bob Dylan's album The Times They Are A-Changin' was released
  • 1996: Deep Blue, a computer, became the first to beat a reigning world chess champion
  • 2009: Two satellites collided in space
  • 1962: Francis Gary Powers, a U.S. spy, was released after being captured by the Soviet Union
  • 1940: "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller hit #1
  • 1947: World War II peace treaties were signed
  • 2014: Florida Georgia Line's "This is How We Roll" was named Billboard Song of the Year
