Parking is close by in the valley on Military Trail and so is a very short trail. Then the FUN begins. Cache is a fairly large square plactic container.
My 5 year old son and I placed this cache. I used to live not too far from here when I was a child and was always amazed by the steep road. Although we took the straight approach, with not too much trouble, there might be a better and safer way, but I didn't see it (rating is based on our approach and the trouble we had in hiding it). Boots are recommended and be careful near the river in the spring.
Other approaches:
1) Fall and Winter should be easy to cross the river (follow the main gravel path from parking in the valley), without getting (too) wet. Probably the hardest time to find in the fall due to all the fallen brush.
2) On the east side of the bridge there is a small trail that goes up and down the hillside...just be careful, as I slipped going over a fallen tree and got a grapefruit sized bruise just above my knee...I can still see remains of the bruise on my knee 5 months later. Spring time would make for a really easy find.
3) There should be an approach from the other side of the river, perhaps from Centennial Collage or some other park along a nice gravel path...if you are familiar with that approach or have taken it, please let me know.
