A quarter past twelve
The EarthCaches enter their third decade!
On 10.01.2004 the first Earthcache was published in Australia by „geoaware“. It bears the name:
GCHFT2: „Earthcache I – a simple geology tour of Wasp Head“
14 days later it got its first „Found it“ log.
If you search for „old“ earth caches, you will still find a few with an earlier publication date. These caches were other cache types when they were published and were later converted into earth caches.
We want to meet monthly to celebrate this 20th anniversary year of Earthcaches! We will always meet at beautiful earthcaches and answer them together. We hope that the owners will be on site and support us with their knowledge in answering the questions.
Our kick-off event for the anniversary took place on 10.01.2024 in Goslar and was very well received. Together with over 40 geocachers, we celebrated the anniversary „20 years of Earthcaches“ at -10 degrees. The highlight was a freshly published EC, 20 meters away. Together with the owner, we talked shop on the subject of „sandworms“ and answered questions.
But who are we?
Geo and Logia are a group of „earth dwarves“ (geocachers) who like to play earth caches. Since we are lovers of EC’s, we know as feedback of course:
• too scientific
• stupid
• too complicated
• too time-consuming
• I don’t enjoy it, but I do it anyway etc.
Our wish is to make Earthcaches less „awful and scientific“ and bring them closer to all geocachers.

¡Los EarthCaches cumplen tres décadas!
El 10/01/2004, «geoaware» publicó el primer Earthcache en Australia. Lleva el nombre:
GCHFT2: «Earthcache I: un sencillo recorrido geológico por Wasp Head».
Catorce días después, obtuvo su primer registro de «Encontrado».
Si buscas Earthcaches «antiguos», encontrarás algunos con una fecha de publicación anterior. Estos eran de otro tipo cuando se publicaron y posteriormente se convirtieron en Earthcaches.
¡Queremos reunirnos mensualmente para celebrar este 20.º aniversario de Earthcaches! Siempre nos reuniremos en hermosos Earthcaches y responderemos juntos. Esperamos que los propietarios estén presentes y nos apoyen con sus conocimientos para responder a las preguntas.
Nuestro evento inaugural del aniversario tuvo lugar el 10/01/2024 en Goslar y tuvo una gran acogida. Junto con más de 40 geocachers, celebramos el aniversario de los "20 años de Earthcaches" a -10 grados. El momento culminante fue un EC recién publicado, a 20 metros de distancia. Junto con el propietario, hablamos sobre los "gusanos de arena" y respondimos preguntas.
¿Pero quiénes somos?
Geo y Logia somos un grupo de "enanos de la tierra" (geocachers) a quienes les gusta jugar con los Earthcaches. Como nos encantan los EC, sabemos, como comentario, por supuesto:
• Demasiado científico
• Estúpido
• Demasiado complicado
• Lleva demasiado tiempo
• No lo disfruto, pero lo hago de todos modos, etc.
Nuestro deseo es hacer que los Earthcaches sean menos "horribles y científicos" y acercarlos a todos los geocachers.

Die EarthCaches starten in ihr drittes Jahrzehnt!
Am 10.01.2004 wurde der erste Earthcache von „geoaware“ in Australien veröffentlicht. Er trägt den Namen:
GCHFT2: „Earthcache I – eine einfache Geologie-Tour durch Wasp Head“.
14 Tage später erhielt er seinen ersten „Gefunden“-Log.
Sucht man nach „alten“ Earthcaches, findet man noch einige mit einem früheren Veröffentlichungsdatum. Diese Caches gehörten zum Zeitpunkt ihrer Veröffentlichung anderen Cache-Typen an und wurden später zu Earthcaches umgewandelt.
Wir möchten uns monatlich treffen, um das 20-jährige Jubiläum der Earthcaches zu feiern! Wir werden uns immer an schönen Earthcaches treffen und gemeinsam die Fragen beantworten. Wir hoffen, dass die Besitzer vor Ort sind und uns mit ihrem Wissen bei der Beantwortung der Fragen unterstützen.
Unsere Auftaktveranstaltung zum Jubiläum fand am 10.01.2024 in Goslar statt und wurde sehr gut angenommen. Gemeinsam mit über 40 Geocachern feierten wir bei -10 Grad das Jubiläum „20 Jahre Earthcaches“. Höhepunkt war ein frisch veröffentlichter EC, 20 Meter entfernt. Gemeinsam mit dem Besitzer fachsimpelten wir über das Thema „Sandwürmer“ und beantworteten Fragen.
Aber wer sind wir?
Geo und Logia sind eine Gruppe von „Erdzwergen“ (Geocachern), die gerne Earthcaches spielen. Da wir selbst Earthcaches lieben, kennen wir natürlich Feedback:
• zu wissenschaftlich
• dumm
• zu kompliziert
• zu zeitaufwendig
• macht mir keinen Spaß, aber ich mache es trotzdem usw.
Unser Wunsch ist es, Earthcaches weniger „schrecklich und wissenschaftlich“ zu machen und sie allen Geocachern näherzubringen.
