This cache is placed "where the sacred rivers meet beneath the shadow of the Keeper of the Plains" to quote a lyric by my favorite musician, the late Rich Mullins, who once lived in Wichita and held concerts at the nearby West Bank Stage, including the world premier of Litergy, Legacy and a Ragamuffin Band.
The Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot-tall Indian sculpture by Native American artist, Blackbear Bosin.
The land that the Keeper is on belongs to the Indians, so I have not placed the cache literally at the Keeper, but it is close. I hope you will take time to visit the Mid-America All-Indian Center and get a closer look at this impressive statue.
Please be discreet while hunting this cache. There are usually people hanging around very close to where the cache is hidden.
Original contents include the Rich Mullins CD The World as Best as I Remember It, Vol 1 which includes the song, Calling Out Your Name from which the quote above was taken. I have also included a postcard of the Keeper of the Plains. There are several other common cache trinkets included.
Please make sure to put the cache back, well hidden. This is an area that could lead to plundering if the cache is not well out of sight. Thanks!
For more information on Rich Mullins, including the lyrics to the song mentioned above, visit the Calling Out Your Name webpage.
(Special note just for Danl: look in the back of the log book.)
