Texas GeoCampers

Inks Lake State Park
We are a group of geocachers who hold regular events touring the great State Parks of Texas! Our group will camp in a different Texas State Park several times yearly. We will be camping inside Inks Lake State Park for this event. Depending on the month, there will be activities and ranger-led events, allowing us to experience all that Texas has to offer! This Geocampers event is planned for the weekend of September 13th. However, some camping geocachers will begin arriving on the 12th to take full advantage of the weekend's camping and caching opportunities! You don't have to camp to attend, but camping is highly encouraged!

Friday
Sometime afternoon - arrive and set up camp

Saturday
Breakfast - On your own
CITO - GCB980Y - Keep Inks Spotless ! 6AM - 6 PM, you just need to pick up trash while caching in the park to claim this event.
Afternoon: Cache out Inks Lake State Park and nearby Burnet, TX!
7:00 PM - Event Begins
*Dinner* This will be a potluck-style meal. Everyone should bring one item to contribute if possible. Please comment in your log on what you will bring and I'll add it to a table in the cache page. We will be preparing a dish as well.
7:30 PM - Gather ‘round the fire to swap stories and enjoy each other's company, S'mores supplies will be available around the fire for those who want them
8:00 PM - Trackable Drawing! (Bring unactivated Geo-Coins, trackable tags, or personal tags to participate. )

An unactivated coin = 2 tickets, an unactivated trackable tag = 1 ticket, 2 personal tags= 1 ticket. One ticket will be drawn and the winner receives the entire haul!

If you would rather camp on your own that doesn't mean you can't join in the fun. See this HERE for more camping information and more information on how to make those reservations. This may be tough as reservations to this park are extremly difficult to come by. You may have better luck at a nearby RV park.
You will need the standard camping gear, including folding chairs, food, beverages, flashlights, and any other necessary items. There is a $6 gate fee per person if you don't have a park pass to enter any State Park.
