St. Anthony's Italian Cemetery was dedicated 99 years ago on October 12, 1926.The stone wall in front of the cemetery took a great deal of time and skill to build. As a kid growing up in the local neighborhood, we liked looking in the small mausoleums at the stained glass placed inside. We rode our bikes and skate boards through the roads in the summer and sleds in the winter. We meant no disrespect. Now there are signs prohibiting these activities. Close by, was a bakery which is now closed. But back then, every day we were treated to the smell of baking bread and the donuts were the best in the area.
You will be searching for a preform tube hanging outside the cemetery walls. Parking can be had in the cemetery or the nearby lot of the old bakery. If you close your eyes, you may be able to imagine the smell of baked goods going through the air.
As with any cemetery cache, no night caching and be respectful. BYOP.
