🏔️ About the Event
Welcome to a special CITO in the heart of the Himalayas!
We’ll gather near Manaslu, one of Nepal’s most stunning yet environmentally fragile regions. Each year, thousands of trekkers and travelers pass through this landscape — unfortunately, not all of them leave it as they found it.
As geocachers and visitors, we have a unique opportunity to lead by example: to protect this place, to act responsibly, and to show respect for nature and the local community. Let’s help keep the trails around Dharamsala clean and beautiful!
🧹 What We’ll Do
-
Collect litter along the hiking paths and rest areas near the event coordinates.
-
Focus on plastic, cans, wrappers, and packaging left by hikers or travelers.
-
Dispose of the collected trash properly at designated collection points in Manang.
-
Take a group photo (optional) and enjoy a short chat about geocaching and sustainable travel.
🎒 What to Bring
-
A small bag (if possible) for collecting litter
-
Drinking water, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing (we’re at about 3,500 m!)
-
A positive attitude and the wish to be a role model for responsible tourism
🌱 Why It Matters
The Himalayas are a breathtaking but delicate ecosystem.
Tourism brings life and opportunities to the region — but it also leaves visible traces.
As travelers and geocachers, we can make a difference by setting a good example: showing care for the environment, the people who live here, and the places we visit.
Even a single filled trash bag helps preserve this amazing landscape for everyone who follows.
🌄 Let’s Cache In – and Trash Out!
Together, we can show that geocachers are responsible travelers who care for the world they explore.
Join us for this meaningful activity and help keep Dharamsala clean, natural, and beautiful.
