Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 730,000 people have volunteered at 41,000 CITO events.

At CITO events, geocachers and community groups work together to improve parks and other outdoor environments. They clean up litter, plant trees, remove invasive species, build trails, and more.
By attending the event you should also be entitled to a souvenir.
What can we do locally?
Let's get in and around Tallawarra breakwall and parkland, for the 2026 Clean Up Australia Day, to see if we can make a difference.
Before we get started you will need to sign into the official Clean Up Australia Day event, which will be at the carpark where you can collect your empty bags.
What to bring:
Sturdy shoes and sensible clothing. If you have them bring your gloves but there will be bags and some gloves provided.
