Cleaning Up Captain’s Wood
Date: Sunday 19th April 2026
Time: 10am to 12pm
Tasks: This is a popular wood on the northern outskirts of Chesham that needs a little TLC to keep it lovely. Our task today will be clearing it of all the rubbish we can find in the wood and the surrounding area. Litter pickers and bin bags will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing, footwear and gloves. Meet at 10am at the parking area in front of the shops in Greenway HP5 2DA.
Please aim to arrive as close to 10am for delegation of tasks or the session as some of us may be spread out across the far corners of the wooldands whilst litter picking. If you think you'll arrive late, please do let me know, so that I can ensure spare equipment is available when you arrive, as spare equipment may be locked away in a car at the given waypoint. It is also important to sign in on the Chesham Environmental Group's register so you are covered by their insurance. This takes place at 10am. It also gives them an idea of how many volunteers help them throughout the year. I will have my own logbook, which will be available to sign at the start and end of the CITO.
