All Saints, Barnby-in-the-Willows is a beautiful church and we are extremely fortunate to have it in our village. As with all churches, the regular church-goers have dwindled, but with joining the parish of Barnby with the larger neighbouring parishes of Coddington and Balderton, the church has been kept alive. Inside, the building has been renovated and is wonderfully cared for by a team of volunteers, led by the churchwardens. The high standard of care inside has come at a price in the churchyard however, as the building has been prioritised over the grounds. A small team can't do everything I suppose.
So, the churchyard needs a bit of care, and that's where we come in. During this CITO, jobs will mainly revolve around pruning, cutting back, tidying and weeding. If you have any tools at home that could help, please bring them with you. I will have some spares, but how many long-handled loppers does one person need?
Tea, coffee and cake will be provided for all volunteers and a CITO souvenir is available for all attendees.
