Geocache Description:

Maker Magic: Quality > Quantity

Friday 24th April 2026

1800 - 1930

Maker Magic events have been created to share knowledge, and inspire others to create wonderful new geocaches.

This event will highlight key areas in cache creation, and will hopefully inspire others to achieve a higher quality of cache.

New and Seasoned geocachers alike are welcome to come along and share their knowledge and stories about geocaching... the more, the merrier!!

The Topics

Location
Where can / can't you place a geocache?

What are the geocache radius rules?

What are all the different kind of geocaches about?

Why are you placing a cache here.... what makes it a good place?

Coordinates
It is very important to ensure you have obtained accurate co-ordinates for your cache placement. How do you do this?

Permission
All geocaches require landowner's permission: How do I get it? What resources exist to help me?

Cache Page
How to format your HTML (make it look pretty?)

What needs to be on the page and how to add images, links, and so on...

Submitting for Review
it is important to provide your reviewer with as much information as possible about where and how your cache is hidden, including a description of the container. Photos are also helpful of the cache container and one of the cache container in place with the surrounding area.

Being a Cache Owner
It's a responsibility!!! Hide your cache before you click "Submit!!"

...because Maintenance is, what?? "Fundamental."

What works as a quality cache container and what doesn't?

Where can you source caching materials, such as Rite in the Rain paper that improves the longevity of your cache?

What constitues great SWAG?

The given coordinates are for a pub in Swaffham Prior. There will also be the usual opportunities for geochat, and swapping of TBs.

This is a Maker Magic event, a celebration of creative cache hides that may inspire you to create a wonderful cache of your own.

Upon attending this event, you will earn the Maker Magic souvenir. You can read more information about the souvenir here.
