This event is intended to help new cachers with the placement of their first geocache.
Support with gathering coords, cache page set up and any other questions that may arise.
I have have been geocaching for almost 12 years and placed my first cache over 10 years ago.
I have also just set my first EC, so some support could be given with EC placements.
Workshop Topics
1. Getting Permission to Place a Cache - who? why? blanket permissions
2. Choosing a Good Cache Location - minimum distance, accessibility, safety
3. Obtaining Accurate GPS Coordinates - obtaining multiple readings, approaching from different angles, avoiding interference, allowing GPS to stabilise
4. Examples of Good Cache Containers - waterproofing, examples of good containers, camo, maintenance
5. Writing a Good Cache Listing - clear, good hint without spoiling the hide.
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the event, participants should:

Understand the process of placing a geocache responsibly.

Know how to obtain permissions and check landowner agreements.

Be able to gather accurate coordinates.

Have ideas for suitable cache containers and hide styles.
Community Benefits
This event will help improve the quality of newly placed geocaches and encourage new cache owners to contribute positively to the geocaching community.
The South Wales Geocaching community has many very experienced geocachers who will, I'm sure attend this event and also be able to sure their expertise in the area.
