St. Mary's Church has two church yards, the upper churchyard and the lower churchyard. We have been clearing up both of these churchyards for just over two years now and the difference is showing.
Our main project going forward is to remove ivy from and record what we can of the gravestones. We will be using a plot map and pre printed sheets to record GPS coordinates, names and inscriptions from the stones.
There are toilets at the church we can use, and we can also shelter in the office should it rain.
Unfortunately we are now unable to use the Village Hall car park. The best place to try to park is Rectory Gardens, Hallen Road or on Henbury Road as you drive towards the Blaise Castle Car Park. The number one bus also has a stop very close by.
