Since 2002, more than 875,000 geocachers have attended over 50,000 CITO Events across 160 countries. That's 50,000 opportunities to give back to your local community. Geocachers who attend a CITO Event 1st March to 31st May will earn a corresponding seasonal CITO profile souvenir when attended and logged.
CITO simply stands for Cache-in-and-Trash-Out, or in English a chance to volunteer to pick up rubbish that gets left to spoil our countryside as well as other opportunities to "do our bit", and everyone especially families, children and dogs are very welcome.
We will join forces with "The Campaign Of Eastern Fields" for the continued protection and enhancement of the fields, to develop recreational and community use while maintaining its informal landscape and wildlife habitat.
Volunteers should bring LITTER PICKERS, GARDENING GLOVES if they have them, LONG SLEEVES/TROUSERS offer protection against nettles. BOOTS OR WELLIES are advised but most important is to be comfortable. Please bring DRINKS to quench your thirst whilst working - oops, that should be whilst enjoying yourselves!
If you are not physically able to litter pick but would like to help we always need some welcoming souls to sit with the equipment at Angela's green bench (given coordinates) and meet with Geocachers.
