Geocache Description:

You are most welcome to join me at the posted coordinates, very close to Drummer Street bus station, for a geocaching event on Sunday 31st May, from 1400 to 1430.

SideTracked event caches have gone, departed, left the station. Everyone is very sad, so, WaitingRoom Events have been initiated for the buffs who like a meet up at a transport hub.

All are invited to this WaitingRoom Event by Drummer Street bus station for chat about all things geocaching.

Beneath the sweeping steel and glass canopy of Drummer Street Bus Station, the rhythm of Cambridge unfolds like verses from a living city poem. Double-decker buses glide in with a low, patient hum, their bright liveries catching the dappled light as they nestle beneath the intricate iron framework that has sheltered generations of travellers. The brick-paved forecourt echoes with the soft shuffle of footsteps, the rustle of bags, and the occasional murmur of conversation, while ancient trees stand sentinel overhead, their leaves whispering against the sky. There’s a gentle poetry in the way people move here — purposeful yet unhurried, stepping between the everyday and the open road. And if you listen closely, beneath the station’s calm breath you can still sense the faint aftershock of the 1920s unrest, when crowds surged through these streets in protest at its very creation — a brief, unruly heartbeat in the city’s long, measured pulse. Now, that old turbulence lingers only as a ghost-note in the air, a reminder that even the quietest places are built on stories of passion, conflict, and change. And in the intervals between arrivals and departures, the station remains what it has always become: a modest, steadfast gateway to the fens, full of movement, memory, and quiet possibility.
