Come join the fun of picking up trash along 36th Street between Highway 370 and Capehart Road.
This is the Fall '26 McEvoy CITO!!
We will meet at the posted coordinated in the parking lot at St Matthews Church for instructions and bags. Please bring any gloves and pick up tools you prefer.
This stretch of road has paved sidewalks on both sides of the road in most places. Children must be under supervision of an adult for obvious safety precautions.
After instructions, the group can split up and I can shuttle cachers to the ends for the walk back to the parking lot.

The McEvoy family has had this stretch of adopt-a-road since 1999, with just one family member able to continue this great service. I know he will appreciate us geocachers to participate with him.
One Day. Many Communities. A World of Difference.
What could happen if geocachers around the world came together on one day to make their communities cleaner?
In 2024, a Texan geocacher, Georeyna, came up with the idea to organize a series of CITO ® events held in conjunction with World Cleanup Day. Geocachers throughout Texas would host cleanup events in their own communities on the same day. While each event is locally organized, together they become part of something much bigger: CITO Across Texas was born!
The results were tremendous. During 2024 and 2025:
• More than 50 CITO events were held across Texas.
• More than 700 volunteers participated.
• Thousands of pounds of trash were removed from parks, trails, waterways, neighborhoods, and other public spaces.
In 2026, they're going bigger from CITO Across Texas to CITO Across the World!
The organizer, BE Viking, is hoping to have events hosted in all 50 states and at least 50 other countries. If you'd like to see more about this or would like to host an event, check out the website: CitoAcrosstheWorld.
I was thrilled to be asked to participate. The location is the approx mile between Highway 370 and Capehart Rd. We've CITO'ed lots of trash here the past couple years and looking forward to seeing what we find this year. Keep track of the most unusual CITO find again this year. (Last year those pesky little bottles were counted as to how many we collected as well)
