One Day. Many Communities. A World of Difference.
A little over two years ago, Georeyna, a geocacher from Houston, TX, asked a simple question: What could happen if geocachers across Texas came together on one day to make their communities cleaner? Based on that simple question, the Texas Geocaching Association (TXGA) created an event called CITO Across Texas in conjunction with World Cleanup Day.
Geocachers throughout Texas held cleanup events on the third Saturday of September. Each event was locally organized, but together they became part of something much bigger.
What started in Texas has now grown into a worldwide initiative. In 2026, for the first time, CITO is going global, bringing geocachers around the world together to clean up our game board.
