Geocache Description:

Located in Utica, New York, the cache is actually accessible with only a short walk from the road in summer, and even if you walk or ski (which is the only way possible in winter) it is still an easy and fun hike.

The Valley View Golf Course is a public golf course in Utica, New York, that has many trails used for biking, walking and general use by anyone, not just golf.
The skiing, snowshoeing, biking and hiking paths on the Valley View golf course are just too nice to leave to golfers, especially since they can’t use them in the winter, so we finally decided to hide a regular cache just off the course, in the “woods”. So all you have to do is listen for “fores” (at least in the summer), and enjoy this walk.

The cache is a 30 caliber ammo can located in the corner of the farthest edge of the course, or not too far from the “eagle” in the virtual cache “Through the Eyes of an Eagle”. And again you can get there many ways. We recommend skiing or hiking from the Valley View Club House, and this is the only real way in the winter, as we learned today that the roads to the top are not plowed in the winter. But in the summer, you can drive up to the Forest Hill Cemetery and the trip is much shorter.

The cache can be easily found in winter or summer, as it is up off the ground and not likely to be snow covered (even with the 2-3 feet cover there this winter).
