Dreher Island State Park. The cache is located along the Little Gap
Trail. It is a 2.1 mile hiking trail limited to foot traffic only.
It starts near the shelter No. 7 & 8. On Red Maple Dr. Parking
Coords. are 34 04.927 N 81 24.117 W The rangers are very nice and
friendly. They asked that every one please follow park rules. only
park in parking spaces, and not on the road sides.
The cache is a 50 cal. ammo. box. Loaded with all kind of goodies.
When you find it please leave it well covered. The coords were
taken on the cache. Little Gap Trail is a 2.1 mile trail which
passes through a variety of woodland habitats. It will take you
approximately 90 minutes to travel from a Loblolly Pine dominated
forest to a large hardwood forest including White and Red Oaks,
Hickory and Many other native South Carolina trees. Along the way,
be on the look out for squirrels, white- tailed deer, rabbit, fox
and other types of wildlife you may encounter. The Little Gap Trail
is a moderately sloped trail which is limited to foot traffic only.
