Geocache Description:

"Caching" in on on another of Lexington's claims to fame, this one will take you back in time.
Located just west of downtown, this is within walking distance of several other caches.

This virtual cache will take you to one of Lexington's famous historical homes. First built in 1803-1806 as an Inn, it was later the childhood home of First Lady, Mary Todd (Lincoln). In 1847, while on their way to Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln brought their two young sons to visit this home.
Open for tours 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. (859) 233-9999
If you would like to take a tour, the posted hours for this house are:

Mon - Sat: 10am - 3pm

Closed December through mid-March. Admission charged. For More Information, Call: (859) 233-9999 or Click On: The Picture Above.

To log the cache, you DO NOT NEED TO TAKE A TOUR, you just have to ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
  • (Easy) When did Abraham Lincoln last visit the house?
  • (Almost as Easy) How many benches are there around the circular path in the garden?
  • (Research) How many OTHER properties was Buela C. Nunn involved in preserving? (according to the sign in the garden, one of which is a sister cache to this one {linked below})

* Note: the last part will involve visiting the house when it is open or doing a little research from the link above. You don't need to go inside ot take a tour, but you do need to wander through the garden.
