Geocache Description:

Sea Front Promenade

This is the Western extremity of the Trans Pennine Trail which was established in 2001 after 11 years work and provides a 350 mile multi-user trail across the North of England. Full details are at and three maps are available covering the whole route. The other extremity at Hornsea is marked by GCDA71. Southport is an attractive seaside resort with such events as annual airshow on the sands by this cache in September and the world famed Southport Flower Show in the nearby Victoria Park in August. The monument lists the towns and cities which the Trail serves and I ask, for justification of the find, the name which appears under that of Southport on the plinth (not the nearby notice) to be emailed to me through my profile -
