Go to the beach, visit historical sites AND find a geocache. You can do all of that in Caracas Bay Island.
Although it is not a real island it is a very historical and interesting place on the island.
You have to pay an entrance fee (currently ANG 5 or USD 3).
Aside from the beach club there are several historical sites at walking distance.
One is a fortress that was used to protect the Caracas bay from intruders. You can enter/climb the fortress and oversea the entire bay. There are still some old canons in place. Bring your camera.
Another is an old quarantine hospital. You can enter the building (at your own risk) but be careful because the building is not in good condition. If you bring a flashlight you can also enter the dungeons underneath the building.
Although you can reach the building by car it is nice to park your car and talk a walk (approx. 5 min.).
The cache is located close to the hospital. Use the coordinates and you should be able to find it.
The cache (blue Tupperware box) is located underneath an overhanging rock formation hidden under some stones.
Find it and enjoy the view over the sea in the refreshing wind.
In the cache you will find a logbook, pencil and sharpener. Please do not take any of these items. Further you will find a fish key chain, 2 nightrider “glo in the dark” mini wheel flyers (bet you don’t know what those are) and 2 mini traffic signs.
Do not wear slippers when locating the cache; you need (walking) shoes. Also, consider bringing some water.
