Sorry to say, I don’t know any historical significance of the area the cache is planted in, just that it’s absolutely gorgeous. The coordinates posted are for the Shooting Star parking lot for Rockbridge State Park. The target is a brass tag with the coordinates on it, but I’ll be mean, and tell you only this: It’s located on something wooden (but not a tree) somewhere near the parking lot.
The tag contains the coordinates of the actual cache. I suggest using the trails and approaching from either due North, South, or West. Going in from the East is the shortest distance, but most painful. I know this seems pretty vague, but you’ll understand once you find the cache.
The actual cache is in a pretty obvious hiding place. My main goal is just to get you to the spot. Making it a multicache is just an easy way to make the cache a little more challenging. Good luck.
While you’re here, I highly recommend visiting the Shooting Star and Gans Creek caches. They are relatively nearby, and there are numerous trails from one to the other that include several bluffs and other scenic areas.
