E: The village is composed of a few ruined houses, a church and, on the South bank of the Safira Creek, a cemetery.
The Igreja de N. Sra. da Natividade de Safira (Church of Our Lady of the Nativity of Sapphire) was built on the 15th century, when the Cardinal Prince D. Afonso was bishop, enlarged on the 16th c. It was damaged badly by the 1755 earthquake, then restored in 1874 and then again in 1903. It’s a rectangular building, with two-sided roof and lateral buttresses (one of them had a small sundial that has now disappeared), a front porch with 3 arches and a bell tower. It has two rococo style altars (the Portuguese version of the baroque style) on the sides.
The cache is a green toolbox.

P: A aldeia é composta por um pequeno aglomerado de casas em ruínas, igreja e, na margem Sul da Ribeira de Safira, um cemitério. A Igreja de N. Sra. da Natividade de Safira foi edificada no séc. XV, no bispado do Infante-Cardeal D. Afonso, e ampliada no séc. XVI. Muito danificada pelo terramoto de 1755, sofreu restauros em 1874 e outros em 1903, que lhe alteraram as características quinhentistas. Trata-se de um edifício rectangular com cobertura de duas águas e contrafortes laterais (um deles com um pequeno relógio de sol em mármore, entretanto desaparecido), alpendre com três arcos à entrada e campanário no topo. Possui dois altares colaterais em estilo rococó decadente (séc. XVIII).
