This cache is located along the North Bend Rail Trail near Walker, West Virginia.
The North Bend Rail Trail is a 72-mile multipurpose trail that was formerly part of an abandoned spur of the B&O Railroad. The North Bend Rail Trail is known as the 'Trail of Tunnels.' Along the 72 mile trail are 13 tunnels and 36 bridges. If you hike any of the trail you are likely to see hikers, bikers, and horseback riders but no motorized vehicles. To get to the cache from Parkersburg travel east Rt. 47. About 6.5 miles past the Rt 47 and the I-77 intersection turn left onto Walker Road. The parking lot is about 4 miles on the left (N 39° 11.008 W 081° 22.421). Follow the trail for about 1 mile. You’ll pass an old log farmhouse and cross a dirt road. It’s a nice hike but you could get to the cache faster by bike.
If you travel past the cache just a little way you will see an old abandoned tunnel. If you hike to just past the 14 mile trail marker you will come to the Easton Tunnel. It is the 2nd longest tunnel on the trail.
The cache is in a green ammo can.
