Cache on the side of a rocky hill overlooking four graves in a quiet corner of the desert.
WARNING: DO NOT cross over the railroad tracks! There is a safe and legal place to cross under not far away. To cross over is not safe (trains are coming downhill around a curve and are quieter than you think) and enters onto RR right-of-way. Coordinates for underpass will be given in the spoiler. Although from the road you will be about .11 away, find the underpass and go under, you’ll see more areas of interest. Any log relating that the tracks were crossed will be deleted.
I explored this area after a friend showed me a hill used to watch trains from about a half-mile away. (We placed a cache there as well. If you’re going to drive this far you might as well have two to find.) A topo of this area is worth looking at. There are quite a few interesting locations off this back road to San Diego/Rocky Point. The cache is placed on the side of a rocky hill far enough from the graves to have no impact. Internet research has yielded no information on these graves. Please drive only on existing roads and close all gates.
It is in the desert; bring water and be careful where you step and place your hands. Be aware of other travelers. While camping about a mile SSE of here a few years ago, found remnants of a few small fires along the sides of a wash. Possibly used by immigrants passing through. Also found the coffee cup in the photo below dropped in the same wash. Drumming up business?
