Toa Ignika: Hej

Geocache Description:

Faroe Island´s first cache. Between the capital Torshavn and the village of Kirkjobour (approx. 8 km distance) there is a walking trail over the mountains. We hided a traditional geocache (Tupperbox) with some items and a logbook just beside this trail (approx. 10-20 m). The height is 245 m.

From the beautiful mountain plateau, where the cache is located, you have a spectacular view westward to the islands of Koltur and Hestur (see the pictures !). Do not hike in this area alone. Plan your trip ahead and let a responsible person know when you should be back. Hiking Boots, warm and waterproof clothes, some food and something to drink is recommended generally, when you hike through the Faroe mountains. The Cache is not hidden in a "vardi"(stone pyramid), which are usually used to mark the trail, so please let these vardis untouched ! Anyway, the cache is hidden under some stones... Have some little items with you to change with the inhold of the cache. If someone that lives in the area would like to adopt or assist with maintenance, we would be very pleased. Please contact us - you find our adress inside the logbook ! Good Luck !
