robertlipe: Nearly 11 years ago, long before this was on a map, this seemed like a good place to put a film canister that played the Star Spangled Banner when you opened it. The electronics have died and I've decided to quit furthering the hobby of one local that insists on hassling visitors.

The cache has always been visible from the road (which is NOT private property; there's a cemetery back there..) and was confirmed to be on the public easement via a trip to the county clerk's office before I put it there. As much as Farmer Ed Ray Jim Bob Bubba Skeeter likes to hassle geocachers, he's out of bounds, but I'm officially giving up on this one.

Thanx to all 250-ish visitors. If you missed the cache but are curious about the spot, pan around (look up!) at https://www.google.com/maps/@35.823187,-86.841031,3a,75y,162.12h,88.12t/data=!3m5!1e1!3m3!1s5fsmo3OZaXMAAAQDMaWQSQ!2e0!3e11

Yes, that's my car in the distance and my feet on the ground. I took this the day of Trash Out 2013. How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Don't even think about parking on a major road. Park downhill on the small road and walk. Many maps will lie to you about this area. Bug spray really isn't necessary.

Sometimes a geocache is about a place. This one is, sort of... Sometimes a geocache is about a puzzle. Like my Oozy Rat. Sometimes a geocache is about a hiding technique.

This is one of the latter. The container is one that local geocachers have seen a zillion times, but this one is special. I hope you enjoy it. Please be gentle with it and put it back as you found it. Bonus points if you can log it with one hand over your heart.

This cache was placed in late June for its seasonal value, but the message holds year-round. You'll understand when you log it.
