Old Quarry Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

CTReviewer: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
CTReviewer

Geocache Description:

Located in Old Quarry Nature Center.Parking coordinates to the closed gate, N41° 22.418 W073° 26.243.
If the gate is open, than drive right up to the building.

This place has always been held close to my heart, as I ran in and about these eighty some odd acres of wonderfull land in my youth.
When my close friend and geocache guru, Wing-it, suggested that I get a cache placed out there to encourage caching, the Old Quarry was the first place in my mind.Through the guidance and expertise of the highly ranked Ct. cacher, we found a nice accesible spot to hide my first cache.
I hope you enjoy the walk, and if time permits for you, do a little site seeing, and take the full loop around.
When you do pull into the nature center, just continue down the dirt road past the house you will see upon entering, and continue past the gate. Like most area parks, this one closes at sunset.
Amongst the usuall geocache disclaimer, log book and pencil, you will find of all things, an anvil (thanks to Wing-It), also a RKBA pin, box of screw fastners,S&W patch, small folding knife, tape measure with level, another small tape measure, small flashlight, First Aid kit,and a rescue blanket. The cache box is small so think small.
Please replace this cache as you found it, and thankyou.

(Note: I adopted this cache in October of 2005, the page shall remain the same.
Planet)
ADDED: This park is open from 1/2 after sunrise to 1/2 an hour before sunset. The dog at the house nearby will bark.
