Montauk Stone Quary (CAR-2)

Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
Located off one of the paths in one of Montauk's newest parks.
The Montauk stone quary has been turned into the town's newest park.
Growing up out there the abandoned property was always used for hiking, biking and 4x4ing.
In the late 1990's there was rumor that a famous rap star had bought the property to build an estate. Whether it was just rumor or the deal fell through we'll never know.
The town took over the property and made it into a multi-use park. It has a giant field for kite / rc plane flying, a fishing pier, some picnic tables and a rocky beach. A path was even extended to link the park to the Hither Woods series of trails.
The cache is hidden off one of these Hither Woods trails. The cache is a clear plastic container with orange top clearly marked with the Geocaching logo. Please rehide as found to keep it safe from both humans and Mother Nature.
In addition to the log book, the cache contains the usual assortment of small goodies. Please bring a pen as the containter was too small to hold one.
NB - Many people are starting to use their initials in cache titles. The initials above are not mine, but a tribute to my brother who was one of the innocent World Trade Center victims from 9/11. Because of his love of Montauk his initials are on this cache. I've also decided to include an American Flag pin as one of the trade items in all of my caches.
