I Hate I-5 (East Coast Version), rev. 0.1 Traditional Cache
TinSparrow: The trees in this interstate rest area suffered some damage during the ice storm in January, and it looks like the cleanup crew cleaned up the cache as they were clearing downed branches and trees. Since this rest area no longer seems to afford a good location for this cache, I have decided to archive it. This is the first cache that I have lost in this fashion. I extend my sympathies to those who lost travel bugs here.

A quick and easy stop for Eastbound interstate travellers.
On a recent trip out West I had the occasion to drive I-5 from Los Angeles to Sacramento. During the drive I noticed several caches just off the interstate with an "I Hate I-5" theme, and I found a certain irony in this. If I were a cache placer who really hated I-5, why would I locate a cache along I-5? I mean, if I really hated it, wouldn’t I want to get my cache as far away from I-5 as possible?
As an example to my West coast caching brethren (and sistren), here is my East coast version in the "I Hate I-5" series. If you really hate I-5 (I mean if you really, really hate I-5), you won’t have to get near it to find this cache.
Please note, this cache was originally placed in a forested area that appeared to be part of the public right of way, but I was informed by a cacher that they encountered someone who claimed to be the land owner and who asked that the cache be removed. This new location in a rest area off of I-20 should not be subject to this problem. If you were one of the few who found it at the old location, please feel free to find it again at its new home.
