Geocache Description:

Cache is not very difficult to find, but is hidden. There is a clear trail to this cache, but the trail is steep and the dirt is very loose in parts, making it somewhat slippery. Actual hiking distance is not very far, but trail is steep and requires a little effort to get back up. Cache is rated 2.5 for terrain because of the slope and loose dirt.

On August 27, 2003 Mars was closer to the Earth than it has been for 60,000 years. This cache is a Mars-themed cache and contains Mars-related items. The cache was placed in the Virginia Foothills because the red rocks and dirt in that area have a Mars-like appearance. Feel free to take or leave any items, but stick with the Mars theme if possible.

Original items included:
Log Book and Pen
2 Martian finger puppets
2 Martian action figures
Mars rubber ball
Mars Mudd (Silly Putty)
Space Ghost postcard
Space pencil

5-1-04: Cache was moved due to some concerns expressed about the previous location. To ensure that private property is being respected it is best to approach the cache from above and go down.
