How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The cache is not at the coordinates listed above, but is within 3 miles of them.
The actual coordinates for this micro cache are in the story below. The cache is located near a place where you could study topics that would help you solve the puzzle.
Important! Due to construction near the cache site, I had to move the cache by about 100 feet in March, 2017. The story below has been updated with the new coordinates. I have also updated Geochecker.
The scene: A restaurant near E.U. headquarters. At the bar, some E.U. staff members are getting together for an after-work drink. The bartender greets them and asks, "How are you all today?"
Johann: "Dry, Pascal! Give me a beer please."
Etienne: "Set me up with some red wine, please."
Alejandro: "A dose of tequila for me, Pascal...Ah, this was worth exploring Mexico for! Wait, what's this?"
Carlos: "A trace of a worm, perhaps?"
Johann: "Fear not, Alejandro, it won't bite you. It's dead!"
Etienne: "Enough, gentlemen! You're ruining my appetite."
Johann: "See, Etienne, you have too fragile a constitution!"
In another part of the restaurant, an E.U. staffer reads a book while waiting for friends to arrive. They walk up to her table, and one of them asks what she's reading.
Frederika: "Ayn Rand."
Soledad: "Duh! Of course--The Fountainhead. I should have recognized it."
Violet: "You know, speaking of novels from the '40s, I've finally been reading Brideshead Revisited as you suggested, Soledad. I'm just up to the part where Julia breaks up with Charles. Poor Charles!"
Soledad: "Sank his hopes, yes, but she had to do it."
Frederika: "Knowing her religious background, I wonder why he ever thought it would work out. I guess he expected her to change."
Soledad: "Unfairly, if you ask me."
Juanita: "Oh, Chole, you'll never admit that Julia is flighty!"
Soledad: "Uh, no she isn't!"
Because the cache is small, you'll need to bring your own pen. There's room for very small trade items.
When you get to the cache location, be sure to watch the field for a while; you may see squirrels, rabbits, or burrowing owls. Bring your binoculars--and the kids!
