Roasted Power Bar
On a perfect, bright, sunny day for cross-country skiing in Gatineau Park, grizzlyG and I skied from Parking Lot P16 to the stream that flows out of Lac Phillippe and then back, for a round-trip ski of 20 kilometers.
On the way back we stopped in at Herridge Chalet for a bite to eat. All I had was a couple of Power Bars, except they had been freezing in my backpack for the whole trip. One attempted bite told me that I would either starve or break my teeth on the bar. grizzlyG, apparently, is a chef of high repute, so he suggested that I put the bars on the hot woodstove in the chalet. It worked like a charm (YUMMY!)and my hunger was cured.
So that's the story behind the title of this cache.
'So what', you say. Well, I hid a MICRO cache somewhere in the same environs at the above posted coordinates. Yeah, I know; I said I probably would never hide a MICRO, but the temptation was just too great. On top of that, it's only a simple traditional cache, no redirect tags!!!
So, go and find it and learn a lesson from the above story.
Herridge Chalet is about 5 kilometers up the trail from parking at P16. It's about 45 minutes on skis in winter or about an hour of hiking in summer.
The cache container is a black 35mm film canister, and it is well hidden. Tiny trade items are recommended.
At the time of placement, the cache contained several coins, a special golf tee, a scary fly, the standard cache notice, a sheet of paper for logging finds, and two sawed-off pencils.
Please rehide the cache exactly as you found it.
Please do not include spoilers in your logs. Logs with spoilers will be
deleted immediately. If you believe there are any problems with the
cache setup, please advise me privately by e-mail so that I may fix
them if necessary.
