Geocache Description:

A cache around the village of Botley requiring visits to four locations to gather clues. (You will need a car or bike for this. It would be a very long way on foot)

The locations should deter any night caching !!

I hope you like churches, (you will by the end).

The Solution takes the form: N 50° AB.CDE W 001° FG.HIJ

At N 50°55.321 W 001°15.005 Florence Stone attained this age = AB

At N 50 °54.860 W 001 °16.251 The Parish celebrated its centenary. 1xxx -4 = CDE. (ie if it was 1987 - 4 CDE =983)

At N 50°54.824 W 001 °16.453 Leslie George May was born in 19xx. xx = FG

At N 50°54.302 W 001°16.543 The 13th Century date of construction of this building (you can see this from the gate even when the building is closed) - 699=HIJ (ie if it was 1275. 1275 – 699 = 576). When this building is open , it is a very interesting place to investigate. You can park (free), within yards of these coordinates.

When you have puzzled all this out, navigate to: N 50º54.327 W001º17.684, then turn on to the bridle path (you are allowed). There is parking for one maybe two cars at: N 50º54.167 W001º17.709. From here pass through the black posts to the footpath. If it is not possible to park here, there are two spaces not far away at: N 50º54.282 W 001º17.679, then go back to the footpath at: 50º54.167 W001º17.709. Then you are on your own!!

The cache is close to an ostrich farm, hence the name. (But they are probably tucked in their beds in the winter).

The cache is located close to a path and does not require any climbing, need for a machete, etc.

When the cache started it contained:

Caching Book and Pencil, Wiggly magic Snake. Flying Saucer Balloons, Jumping Beans, Bungee Spider Jumping Pen, Glow in the Dark Ooze, Bubbles, Swanee Whistle, Toy Clay, “Incoming” PC Game, “Men in Black” PC Game, 2 x Springy Smiley things, 2 x Sets Mini Felt Tip pens.

When you have finished with this cache, why not move on to “Hamble Ramble” which is nearby.
