Little She-Devil Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

drofrockology: I am very discourage about this cache.

I stopped by there yesterday to check on the cache’s well-being and found that some self-centered thief has taken the original container and swapped it out with some cheap plastic gum box.

Needless to say, this has upset me to the point of archiving the cache.

If you were one of the cachers who found it in its original container (an Altoids Mint tin with an image of the same woman who graces the cache page) you know why the cache had the name. That was the whole point of this cache, even though it was the first hide of its kind in this part of Nevada. Well, having a cache named “Just Another Cheap Piece of Leftover Trash Hidden Under a Light Pole Skirt” does not appeal to me.

I hope the person who stole that beautiful little devil treasures his/her possession and the fact that they are the reason the cache no longer exists.

Situations such as this make me wonder why I devote so much time, money and energy to improve geocaching and promote the sport in and around Northern Nevada.

Do I have any suspects? Well, maybe. I was at the cache on September 30th and the tin was still in place.

Does that mean that one of the cachers who logged the cache since then took it? Maybe; maybe not. Would a thief leave his/her name on the online log? I guess that’s up to the person who stole it and what was more important to them: the tin or their cache-count.

Whatever the reason, the tin (and now the cache) is no longer there.

Has this damaged my faith in geocachers?

Most decidedly YES!

I know that 99% of geocachers are respectable, responsible people who follow the rules and spirit of caching.

It’s just too bad that 1% of them have such a strong voice.

Discouragingly yours,

Geocache Description:

HOW LOW CAN THIS LITTLE DEVIL GO?

This will either be a really easy cache on your way through town or a devil of a cache to find.
I guess it depends on your imagination.

You are looking for an Altoids Mint tin.  Please, don't fill it up with stuff so the lid won't close.  If it don't fit, don't put it in.

I did start it out with a geo-token i grabbed last Autumn in Sacramento.  It has a nice round number that makes in rather collectable, I think.

It also contains a log.

Bring your own writing implement.

We've started a forum for geocachers in this part of
the Silver State and California.
