Down The Garden Path Traditional Geocache
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
As with all of our caches there is NO BUSHWHACKING needed to find this cache. This cache could actually be considered wheelchair accessible.
Take a walk down the garden paths of HobbleAlong's most favorite park (well it used to be her favorite) where you will enjoy a great view of the river and you will learn about Oregon's first pig iron made west of the Rocky Mountains.
HobbleAlong has fond memories of this spot as she remembers it from early childhood days as her "all-time favorite place to go". Then in late 2005, early 2006 they took out all of the 'natural' beauty of the park. She even used to go fishing here as a child with homemade fishing pole using a safety pin for a hook (closed of course so as to not hurt the fish). Wasn't she thoughtful?
As you venture around the park and cross the creek try to visualize that at one time this bridge was a swinging rope bridge. Now that was an experience to remember.
While at it, check for other nearby caches and you will quickly discover why this is a favorite spot for both HobbleAlong and Hopalong Cachedy.
It is also interesting to check these two websites to compare the past with today.
Thank you and we hope you enjoy finding this cache as much as we enjoyed hiding it.
