Geocache Description:

8-9-12 Update:

Cache is now a black pained peanut butter container.

A GEOVESSEL MUST BE USED TO BAG THIS CACHE!!!!!!

Another Lake Murray Island Cache for all you fishing/boating/jetski enthusiasts.

We went fishing again and just picked out this island and plopped a cache on it. After placing the cache we fished around it. It turned out to be a GREAT fishing hole! Lots of stumps!!

When we were looking for the perfect cache hide spot...I stepped RIGHT in the middle of a fire ant mound. Thus the name "Fire Ant Island". I had NO idea...it looked like a hard pack of red clay...PLEASE watch out for fire ant mounds...They are prevalent on this island. We noticed some "deer signs" on the island!! After fishing around it we noticed that the deer are walking out to the island from the main land...it is only 3 to 4 feet deep all the way out to the island...so if you can find that ONE point, you COULD actually walk out to this cache (while the lake is down for dam repair). After they raise the level it won't be walkable...but swimming is and option...if you can swim 100 yards.

We placed this cache in our usual fishing/boating attire of shorts and flip flops...you COULD wear flip flops...but we suggest tennis shoes.

Happy Cachin'!!
